Who are we?

Formed over twenty five years ago as the Mount Barker and Districts Hockey Club, the Adelaide
Hills Hockey Club began by entering teams in the South Coast Hockey Association, a competition
we came to dominate, winning a number of titles in both male and female competition. After a
period in the South Coast Association, it was decided to enter the Hockey SA competition,
playing throughout the Adelaide Metropolitan Area. Although always competitive, and playing as
high as in the old Men's Division 3, the Hornets have found success harder to come by. Nevertheless
we have picked up flags in the Metro Grass League and our Division 6 Women finished runners
up (after the Grand Final from Hell!) in their first season of 2004 before going all the way in 2005
and again in 2006. Our most recent success in this area is the 2008 Division 4 Men's Premiership in Hockey SA's Metro League.

The Hornets have always been good at giving talented players a start, many Premier League players
beginning their career with the Hornets. Now the AHHC is moving into an exciting new phase, with
numbers increasing as we work towards our first Premier League side by the middle of this decade.
